Why I think an elephant would make a good pet.

Today I am going to be talking/telling you about why an elephant would make a good pet. Did you know that elephants weigh about 24,000 pounds?

My first reason why I think that an elephant would make a good pet is because if you're short like me and you want to get something that is to high for you to reach you can use the elephant like a ladder. This means hopping onto the elephant carefully and trying to reach for it. For example climbing on the back of the elephant and trying to grab the thing you want. If you do that then you won't have to struggle trying to grab it.

My second reason why I think an elephant would make a good pet is because the elephant does not eat meat but only eats plants. This means you don’t have to buy a lot of expensive meat for them. For example letting the elephant outside so that he or she can go and eat the plants. If you do that then you won’t have to go to the store every second day and you don’t have to spend lots of money on meat that you aren’t going to eat.

My third reason why I think an elephant would make a good pet is because some elephants can live up to seventy years of age and you will have an elephant for up to seventy years of age. This means you don’t have to go and get another elephant every two years. For example going to the same place and getting another elephant because the other one has died. If you do that then it will be more easier for yourself instead of getting a new elephant.

I have given you my three reasons of why I think an elephant would make a good pet. I hope you enjoyed my three reasons of why I think and elephant would make a good pet. Thank you for listening and hope you enjoyed it.

Why we need wifi in our live - Explanation Writing.

Kia ora today I am going to be talking/explaining why we need wifi in our lives. If we had no wifi in our lives there would be no youtube, facebook, google drive, and games.

My first reason why I think we need wifi in our lives is because we wouldn’t be able to connect with family and friends that live around the world. This means we can go on facebook and youtube to contact family and friends and listen to music/videos. For example talking to my cousin that lives in Australia with my aunty. If we didn’t have wifi in our lives I wouldn’t be able to contact her if there was something really important and she didn’t know about it.

My second reason why I think we need wifi in our lives is because we wouldn’t be able to play our favorite games. This means we can use the internet to go on games that we really like and. For example going on the wifi and playing on our favorite games that we like to play. The effect of this is if we didn’t have wifi we would be sitting down with our family and talking and watching tv which isn’t really fun.

My third reason why I think we need wifi in our lives is because if we didn’t have wifi in our lives I wouldn’t have been able to write this document if we didn’t have wifi. This means if we didn’t have wifi we would be writing this whole thing in our book with a pen or a pencil. For example going into our lockers and getting your book and pen. The effect of this is you will be getting sore hands and wrist.

I have given you three main reasons why I think we would need wifi in our lives. I hope you enjoyed my reason of why we need wifi in our lives.

Thank you for listening.

Indigenous Game - Mutorere

Today we learnt how to play an indigenous game of New Zealand called Mutorere. It is a brain game that makes you strategise and use logic to outwit your opponent. Before we started playing we watched a couple of videos to show us how to play. After that me and my buddy Karina started practicing the game. A few moments later  Miss Kyla started to throw a competition. The players that participated in the competition were Mahara and Kanye, Kalo and Lizzy, Huriata and Paris, Taylor and Perenara, Karina and Angel, and me and Tatum. When we finished the other round we carried on until there were two people left which was me and Kanye. After that me and Kanye went head to head and it was really fast. The winner out of me and Kanye was him. I was really pumped into playing this game until I lost to Kanye.

The things you will need:
- 2 different colored blocks (4 of each colour)
- 1 Mutorere game board
- 2 people/oppinit

How to play:
So the point of the game is that you got to try and block the other player from moving.

The rules are:
- You can't jump over the other person's block
- and if you can't move anymore you gotta restart the whole game.

Red Nose Sports Day.

Today room 10 participated in a kelly sports event to support cure kids. Cure kids is a child center and charity that helps kids with Asthma, Cancer and stillbirth. Supporting them means kids in Aotearoa and around the world get treated and get help from our donations which is a great thing if you think about it because you are helping kids that really need it. For an example if you go on the cure kids site they have many things that they have accomplishments where they show all there breakthroughs that they have had.
The effects of their research and work is that children are getting treated and they are getting the help that is needed but also donating they get help and it also helps them break through their illnesses which is amazing because you're helping someone elses kids out.
I participated in this event by donating and playing the games that kelly sports and cure kids have setted up for us. I thought that these games where really fun but my favorite one out of all three of them was capture the flag because we were playing full field and divided into two teams and also some other reasons why capture the flag was my favorite is because everyone was working as a team and no one was put down.
I liked supporting cure kids because we got to go outside after morning tea time and we got to do some fun activities/games and we also got to wear mufti and also everyone played fair in the games and hardly anyone was cheating which made the game more fun.

last year of the term

Nau mai, hoki mai ki taku rangitaki.
Ko tenei te wahanga tuawha o te tau! Kei te pehea to hararei?

Some things i am looking forward to throughout my last term of this year being a year 8 at Tamaki Primary School this term are the Te tuhi art gallery, Waiwera hot pools, Mangere mountain and the movies to watch wonder. I am going to make the most of my time At Tamaki Primary School because I will be leaving Tamaki Primary School and moving onto a different school in college.

My personal goal for my last term 2017 at Tamaki is to improve in all subjects mainly Tuhituhi (writing) and Panui (reading). The reason why i picked these to subjects to work on as my goal for my last term of being here at Tamaki primary School is because I think that I have been slacking on for the past few terms and i would also love to get those two subjects up to standard.

To fully enjoy the end of year opportunities, I will need to remember to come to school everyday with a good mindset and a positive attitude and also have the right uniform on every single day and always being consistent. The reason for this is because a year 8 student here at Tamaki Primary i want to do everything the write way and also showing the values in and out of school and also being on my best behavior and also having a positive attitude.

I can't wait for all the trips and opportunities to come the rest of the year.

Thank you for reading!!
